Producer

Producers oversee the development of a game. Their job is to schedule the development of game projects so that they are delivered on-time and to the highest quality possible. As a Producer, you are responsible for determining delivery goals, creating development milestones and scheduling work to meet deadlines. You will communicate regularly with clients to confirm what’s being built is to their satisfaction, and also with developers on current projects to handle any problems that crop up.

Producers are expected to ensure that development keeps going by solving any development problems that come up as quickly as possible. This means making hard decisions, preparing contingency plans and always being aware of what goes on in production.

The Ideal Candidate should posses the following qualities:

  • Game scripting experience Must be capable of organizing people and providing directions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with programming, art, and business personnel.
  • Must be able to foresee possible problems and prepare contingency plans to handle them.
  • Must have good understanding on how games are developed.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of team dynamics.
  • Must be able to interpret priorities, and make hard decisions on what can be delivered.
  • Extremely organized and proficient in overseeing large project schedules.
