Lead Game Artist
We are looking for a lead game artist to direct a team of artists in creating our games. This person will be responsible for all of the art that goes into a game, ensure that all art milestones are met, and balances and optimizes all art before it is exported into the game engine. The lead game artist works closely with the Technical Art Director, Art Director, Designer, and Producer to ensure that the art meets all technical, art, design, and milestone requirements, all the while ensuring that their team is motivated and working at maximum efficiency.

The Ideal Candidate should posses the following qualities:
- Solid understanding of computer graphics, and video game art production pipelines.
- Knowledge of the game industry.
- Willing and able to work closely with Game Designers and Programmers.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate proficiency in 3d Studio Max.
- Understand and be able to use edge extrusion modeling.
- Understand and be able to use the Edit Mesh and Edit Poly modifiers.
- Demonstrate proficiency in UV Unwrapping.
- Understand and be able to use Box Modeling.
- Demonstrate proficiency in UV Mapping.
- Ability to create 3D models from 2D concept sketches.
- Ability to model proficiently with extreme low polygon count (300/character), low poly count (1000/character), medium poly count (3000/character) models.
- Understand and be able to use tristripping.
- Ability to optimize polygon count for games.
- Understand and be able to use Vertex Coloring.
- Ability to organize multiple materials.
- Ability to distribute material IDs.
- Demonstrate understanding of edge looping.
- Demonstrate understanding of lighting and how it affects the polygons and edges.
- Must understand different styles including western animation, japanese animation, realistic, and hyper-realistic.
- Must have a working vocabulary of drawing techniques, mediums, styles, and deliverables.
- Must have a basic understanding of colour theory.
- Must be able to demonstrate depth through colour and saturation.

- Must have shipped at least one title as a game artist.
- Must have in depth knowledge of 3ds Max.
- Must have strong leadership qualities.
- Must have a very good eye for detail.
- Must have a thorough understanding of all aspects of game art.
